Scottow Enterprise Park has grown from strength to strength since its opening in 2013, with the site now home to a record 500 professionals. The site, based on ex-RAF Coltishall, has repurposed and revived military buildings for commercial space for tenants representing a range of industries, from construction to film.
Covering 600 acres of land, the Park is run by Hethel Innovation, a leading East Anglian specialist of innovation and incubation. The company has a particular interest in technology, reflected in Scottow Enterprise Park’s support of STEM skills and ventures. Of the 128 businesses based in the Enterprise Park, 30 are startups and 76% have a science, technology, engineering or manufacturing focus. These include a manufacturer of construction materials made from recycled glass beads, a market leader in passivhaus technology and a company looking to create the next generation of crop growing techniques.
With 500 people now employed on the site, Scottow Enterprise Park has built a strong community of professionals and offers a secure location for businesses. The base is managed by an on-site team, boasts superfast broadband and provides a variety of business spaces, from storage shipping containers to expansive hangars. Thanks to the Park’s status as an Enterprise Zone, which offers tenants within the zone business rates free premises for five years.
Speaking of the landmark employment of professionals at the Park, Managing Director of Hethel Innovation, Simon Coward, commented “Scottow Enterprise Park, and its community of businesses and professionals, has grown incredibly over the last few years. Having previously housed the Royal Air Force, it is great to see the site full of life again, offering a fantastic space and service to businesses. For the 500 individuals employed at the Park, the base is a safe, secure and stimulating place to work and we hope this long continues”.
